Education

We teach Key Skills Level 1 and 2 (all of which are City and Guilds approved) in subjects:

  • Application of Number
  • Communication
  • ICT (Information, Communication, Technology)
  • Working with Others
  • Problem Solving
  • Improving own learning and performance

Key Skill Certificates are awarded to each individual in completion of satisfactory work which is marked and approved by a City and Guilds assessor.

Accreditation outputs and points are passed on to the schools for inclusion in their school wide results.

Provision is available equally to female and male young people aged 11-16.

We offer placements anytime of the academic year.

Sessions are offered on a half day or full day.

Learning packages are flexible and tailored to each individual to ensure specific learning issues are dealt with.

We have a Buddy system where each student will have a dedicated tutor who will have regular meetings with the student, monitor their attendance and their level of work and be a support to them.

All work is in small groups with a normal ratio of 2 members of staff per 6 students.

Weekly reports are prepared on each individual learner outlining attendance record, work undertaken and behaviour and sent to the schools.

Learning is currently being aligned to two awarding bodies NOCN and City and Guilds.
